Kim Chiu is now in South Korea—not just for her usual chic “Chiurista” moments—but to represent the Philippines in an international awards ceremony. The actress bagged the “Outstanding Asian Star” award at the Seoul International Drama Awards 2024. She is set to personally receive the award this afternoon, September 25.
The Kapamilya actress expressed her gratitude for the recognition and support given by her fans, saying she looks forward to representing the Philippines and her home network in the global awards show. “Very grateful na may supporters talaga ako. Super talaga ‘yung suporta nila! Very excited to represent the Philippines, [and] of course, ABS-CBN,” she noted in a TV Patrol clip aired on September 24, 2024.
But before Kim arrived in Seoul, she revealed that she had a last-minute problem with her passport. Luckily, she was able to resolve it with her friend and It’s Showtime co-host Ryan Bang. This, as she shared a video of her own LED billboard in Seoul organized by her fans! Yup, you read that right, Kim is in her billboard era in Seoul!
Emotional in her caption, she quoted Kim Chiu Global‘s post on X (formerly Twitter), “Hala!!!’ Billboard sa KOREA?!!!!! gusto ko na umiyak talaga!!!! Hindi ko alam kung sa pa LED billboard ng @KimChiuFBPage fam or dahil finally sa tulong ni @ryanbang nakalabas na passport ko the day before the event! waahhhh! Thank you po KCG FAMILY!” The digital ad is located at Exit 9 Hongik University Station and was available until midnight on the 24th.
Being the appreciative girlie that she is, right after she flew to Seoul last night, she hurried and tried to see the LED billboard in person. And she did! “5mins before it’s gone! Naabutan ko sha! thank you @teamkcg fam! thank you so much!!” she wrote in the caption of her Instagram Story. Kim uploaded a video of her happily pointing at the billboard in the middle of the road, though. LOL! We’re so happy for you, Kim!
