A new billing issue has emerged on ‘It’s Showtime,’ centering on hosts Kim Chiu and Karylle as the show celebrates its 15th anniversary.
During a recent episode, viewers noticed that Karylle, a longtime host, was positioned farther from the center stage. In contrast, Kim Chiu, a more recent addition to the noontime show, stood close to co-hosts Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis.
This setup led some fans to speculate that Kim was receiving more prominence than Karylle, who has been part of the show longer.
Several fans took to social media to express their frustration, feeling that Karylle deserved a central spot due to her years of commitment to It’s Showtime.
One fan commented, “Hindi porket mabait siya at hindi nagrereklamo, ganun na magiging pagtrato niyo sa kanya. Isa sa mga original hosts ’yan tapos iginilid niyo lang?” Another shared, “No offense meant kay Kim, pero Karylle should take over her seat. She deserves it more.”
However, the following episode featured Kim at the far edge of the stage, with Karylle closer to the middle, appeasing fans and stirring no complaints.
Both Kim and Karylle have yet to address the matter publicly, and showbiz insiders note that billing debates are common yet often overblown.
With billing as a recurring debate in the industry, some wonder if such issues are still relevant in today’s entertainment world, especially given the frequent reassurances from celebrities that they don’t mind the placement as long as they can perform and connect with their audience.
