EURO 2024: “WE WENT ALL THE WAY GARY!”, CUCURELLA TEASES NEVILLE AFTER THE SPANISH TITLE

Winner of Euro 2024 after the success of La Roja against England on Sunday evening (2-1), Spanish defender Marc Cucurella did not fail to respond to one of his detractors, in this case the former England international Gary Neville. The Chelsea player gently teased the one who is also a consultant for Sky Sports.

Once again, Spain is on top of Europe . On Sunday evening at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, La Roja completed its perfect run (seven games, seven wins) in this Euro 2024 by winning in style against England in the final (2-1). A success hailed by all , as the selection captained by Luis De la Fuente was attractive in the game compared to most of the other nations involved in the competition.

It didn’t take long after the final whistle to see Mikel Oyarzabal’s teammates, the decisive scorer, celebrate this new title as it should be. And this concerns first and foremost the Spanish left defender Marc Cucurella. Before the match, the latter had been targeted by the press – especially the English one – as being one of the possible weak points of this Spanish formation, explaining that he would suffer the assaults of Bukayo Saka in his corridor.

Former England international Gary Neville, a consultant for Sky Sports, went even further, explaining that the full-back was “one of the reasons why La Roja couldn’t go all the way”. It was clear, after the final whistle, that the former United player was wrong…

The Chelsea player didn’t wait long before responding to him on his social networks. In a story published on his Instagram account, he teased him in a simple and effective way: “We went all the way Gary. The English fans, who turned out in large numbers – nearly 50,000 people in a 70,000-seater stadium – had left the stands before the ceremony. Rodri received the trophy for best player of the tournament while Lamine Yamal was named best young player of the tournament.
