Maiqui Pineda has come to the defense of her husband, Robi Domingo, following criticism from netizens regarding his recent birthday post in which he expressed his desire to have a child.
The couple’s situation garnered attention, particularly as Maiqui is currently receiving treatment for an autoimmune disease.
In a video shared by Robi, he stated, “By this year, actually by this month, sana meron na akong anak but then it happened… it’s hard, maybe it’s not time yet.” This heartfelt sentiment prompted backlash from some social media users who felt that Robi’s remarks were insensitive given Maiqui’s health struggles.
In response to the backlash, Maiqui took to her Instagram Stories to clarify that she does not feel pressured to conceive. She reassured followers, stating, “No issues at all. I’ve openly mentioned it here before but he has a bigger reach hehe. It’s both our goals, our plans, and our wishes but we acknowledge the reality of things and have chosen to trust in God’s plans and timings instead. But we are hopeful! Just have to wait a bit and do some work for now. But the prayers and support means a lot.”
Maiqui further emphasized, “There’s really no pressure at all. No one has made me feel that way. But I know it’s what I want so I’m just doing what I can to hopefully make that happen one day.”
The couple, who wed in a private ceremony in 2023, is navigating their journey together while managing their personal aspirations amid the challenges they face.
