Angelica Yulo, the mother of world-renowned gymnast Carlos Yulo, has been extended an invitation to compete in the prestigious Mrs. Philippines 2025 pageant.
The invitation comes after Angelica gained attention for her strong presence and style, catching the eye of the pageant’s organizers.
During a recent media conference held by the Mrs. Philippines Organization, President Erika Joy Santos praised Angelica for her dedication as a mother and her impeccable fashion sense. Santos highlighted Angelica’s potential to shine as a beauty queen, emphasizing her admirable qualities as both a mother and an individual.
“I think na naging gymnast ‘yung mga anak niya because naghirap din siya for it. She surely sacrificed a lot of things para masuportahan lahat ng anak niya. And I believe in the goodness and kindness of motherhood,” Santos said, explaining why Angelica would be a great fit for the competition.
The Mrs. Philippines Organization announced the reopening of applications for next year’s pageant, unveiling a rebranding with a new logo and leadership team. The pageant, which celebrates mothers from all walks of life, has no age or size restrictions. It welcomes married women, single mothers, and even those who are widowed or separated.
“There is no restriction for Mrs. Philippines, age limit, or size requirement. We don’t do money-shaming. So everyone, as long as you’re a mother, a single mom, a married woman, or you’re widowed or separated, you are welcome to join Mrs. Philippines 2025,” Santos stated, adding that the only exclusion applies to single women without children, who are categorized in the Miss Pageant series.
The winner of Mrs. Philippines 2025 will receive a grand prize of ₱150,000 and will spearhead various outreach programs across the country, focusing on community-building efforts. Unlike other pageants, the titleholder will not compete internationally but will play a key role in local initiatives.
