These Kapamilya stars remain with the network and its talent agency, Star Magic, while doing projects with Kapuso Network.
Gone are the days when contract stars are only exclusively seen in one TV network. The wall of network exclusivity is finally broken, and it’s us who’s been benifiting! How lovely to see our favorite stars jump from one network to another, to do a variety of shows.
Kim Domingo on FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, and Joshua Garcia on Unbreak My Heart? Wow! Who would have thought, five years ago, something like this would happen?! And now, the exchange of stars further continues with more and more Star Magic talents now set to appear on major Kapuso teleseryes next year.
Currently, Joem Bascon is on the top-rating series, Asawa Ng Asawa Ko, which has been on air for nine months. Before its finale, Dominic Ochoa was part of the former no.1 daytime drama, Abot Kamay Ng Pangarap, for two years. He is set to appear on anothed Kapuso series again, this time the Sofia Pablo-starrer, Prinsesa ng City Jail.
Another Star Magic contract artist, Desiree del Valle, will be part of the upcoming action-drama, Mga Batang Riles. Like Dominic Ochoa, Denise Laurel, has also been cast in the Afternoon Prime drama, Prinsesa ng City Jail. Nikki Valdez will be part of the second season of 2022’s highest rated series, Lolong.
That said, the biggest Kapamilya artist we will ever see in a 2025 Kapuso series, is definitely, the Volpi Cup Best Actor, John Arcilla, who will play the main villain role in the Ruru Madrid-starrer, Lolong. This marks his return to Kapuso Network, after playing Hagorn in the 2016 reiteration of Encantadia. Arcilla is a Star Magic artist, and is currently seen in the ensemble drama, Pamilya Sagrado.
Who among this Kapamilya stars will make you watch GMA Network in 2025? Let’s keep supporting our local stars, no matter what channel they appear in!
