Actor Archie Alemania has been removed from the GMA Network series ‘Widows’ War’ after actress Rita Daniela filed a complaint against him for alleged acts of lasciviousness.
Alemania’s role as an investigator in the series has since been recast, with Arthur Solinap stepping in to replace him.
The complaint, filed by Daniela in Bacoor City, has sparked public outcry. As a result, Alemania and his wife, Gee Canlas, have disabled comments on their Instagram accounts, where angry messages had been pouring in. Netizens expressed disappointment and even sent harsh messages to Alemania, with some unfairly extending criticism toward his family.
Meanwhile, Daniela, who last posted on Instagram on October 24, has received support from her followers and fans, many commending her courage to speak out. “Nasa tama ka at wag kang papayag magpaareglo para mabigyan ng leksyon ang mga tulad niya,” one commenter wrote, while another added, “Ituloy mo yan at manindigan ka lang sa tama.”
Daniela’s absence from ‘Widows’ War’ over the past week has reportedly been due to the ongoing situation. Fans hope she will return to the series, while the network has hinted at her character Rebecca’s comeback. For Alemania, however, the incident has placed his role in the series and his standing with his management agency, Sparkle GMA Artist Center, under scrutiny.
Before this controversy, ‘Widows’ War’ cast members had shared a close bond, which Alemania showcased in a recent TikTok reel where he joined Daniela, Bea Alonzo, Carla Abellana, and Jean Garcia in a light-hearted moment.
