Kapuso actress and international fashion icon Heart Evangelista has dispelled rumors of a supposed conflict between her and 2015 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach.
Speculation about a silent feud between the two surfaced on social media, where they were believed to be taking indirect jabs at each other, particularly regarding their respective careers in global fashion.
In a media conference held at the Westin Manila for her upcoming show ‘Heart World,’ Evangelista directly addressed the issue, putting an end to the circulating rumors.
“Woman to woman, I never had a problem with Pia. In fact, I was one of those who cheered for her in the past. And I like to think that it was the same for her,” Evangelista stated, clarifying that there is no animosity between them.
She further shared her appreciation for Wurtzbach’s support in the past, recalling a time when the beauty queen used the hashtag #HeartMadeMeDoIt. “She was so sweet enough to even use and post the hashtag ‘Heart Made Me Do It’ and at the time, I was so touched,” Evangelista said.
However, Evangelista hinted at issues arising from Wurtzbach’s choice of company, though she did not mention any names. “But, it’s the people that she chose to surround herself with for specific reasons that makes this whole thing problematic,” she explained.
Despite this, Evangelista expressed her well wishes for Wurtzbach, delivering a heartfelt message: “So, if I have a message to Pia it would be, congratulations! You have what you needed, I wish you nothing but the best and good luck. Sana, sana! Hindi mangyari sa ‘yo ‘yung nangyari sa akin. Yun lang siguro ang gusto kong sabihin.”
In other news, Evangelista is set to make her television comeback with her new show ‘Heart World,’ premiering on October 26 on GMA Network. The vlog-style program, produced by Evangelista herself, will provide audiences with a rare glimpse into her personal life beyond the glitz and glamour of the fashion world.
