Unkabogable star Vice Ganda has shared his playful take on a possible future in politics, saying he would only consider running if he could aim straight for the presidency.
In an interview with former manager Ogie Diaz on his YouTube channel Showbiz Updates, Vice revealed that if he ever did join the political arena, it wouldn’t be in a traditional way.
When asked if he might follow other celebrities into public service, Vice humorously responded, “Kaya kapag may nagtatanong nga sa akin ‘di ba, niloloko ko. Sabi ko, ‘ayaw ko niyan ang baba (ng posisyon). Gusto ko presidente agad!’”
The comedian added that he wouldn’t go through the usual campaign process or spend any of his hard-earned showbiz income to fund a political run. “Hindi ako mangangampanya. Magpa-file ako ng candidacy tapos gagawa akong vlog. ‘Tatakbo po ako ito po ‘yung mga plataporma ko. Kung bet n’yo kong iboto, go. Kung hindi, okay lang din.’ Pero joke lang ‘yun,” he joked.
Despite the lighthearted tone, Vice noted that while he hasn’t considered politics seriously, he doesn’t want to say “never.” He acknowledged that life can be unpredictable, and his stance might change.
Rumors have circulated for years about political groups approaching Vice for a potential run, but he has consistently declined these offers. For now, it seems the comedy star is content to keep his focus on entertainment, steering clear of any political plans.
