Another Liverpool player ‘confirmed to leave’ as mass exodus continues after Arne Slot arrival
Another player is set to leave Liverpool this summer.
Another Liverpool player looks set to leave the club as Arne Slot’s summer clear out continues.
The coming season will be the dawn of a new era at Anfield, with Dutch coach Arne Slot replacing Jurgen Klopp.
After almost nine years in the job, Klopp stepped down from his position citing his desire to take a break and avoid exhaustion.
Informing Liverpool of his decision last November gave club bosses plenty of time to find a replacement, and Slot was the man they settled on.
After falling away in the Premier League title race last term, Liverpool’s squad needs reinforcing if they are to challenge Manchester City and Arsenal at the top of the table.
That process starts with offloading fringe squad members and those out of contract.
Adrian, Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara have all departed following the expiration of their contracts, with the latter deciding to retire after an injury-ravaged campaign.
According to The Athletic, Nat Phillips is set to follow them out the door.
The defender has spent the last eight years at Anfield, but he has never been able to nail down a regular place in the first team.

Last season Phillips spent time on loan at both Celtic and Cardiff City, and he is now entering the final year of his Liverpool contract.
At 27 years old the centre-back is keen to secure regular first team football, and there are a few potential suitors looking to give him exactly that.
Phillips was subject to a £4 million bid from Turkish club Trabzonspor, but Liverpool are holding out for £8m to £10m.
Several Championship clubs are interested, including Scott Parker’s Burnley.
There has already been one huge hint that Phillips will leave Liverpool this summer.
In May Phillips took to Instagram to thank Klopp for helping him in his career. Departing goalkeeping coach John Achterberg commented beneath the post: “You a good defender Nat! Good luck in your next move.”
