‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,’ the top-rated primetime series known for its record-breaking 729,234 concurrent views, is gearing up for a crucial showdown, where Tanggol’s (Coco Martin) life hangs in the balance amidst the escalating tension between the Caballeros and Montenegros.
However, amidst the unfolding drama, another major development took fans by surprise—Ate Gay’s emotional exit from the series.
Ate Gay’s character, Elsa, met a tragic end in a recent episode, fighting alongside Tanggol. The sudden turn of events stirred a wave of reactions on X (formerly Twitter), with many fans expressing sadness over her departure.
Taking to Facebook, Ate Gay shared her heartfelt message to her director and co-star, Coco Martin. “I love you, Direk Coco… naiyak ako sa scene, bakittttttttt ,” Ate Gay posted, reacting to her character’s death.
In a follow-up post, Ate Gay revealed the true reason behind her decision to leave the show. “Ang totoo gusto ako ni Direk na isama sa tropa niya… kaso may iba ako mundo, eto ay ang pagpapatawa sa entablado… hindi naman pwede umabsent sa taping para lang mapagbigyan ako… kaya minabuti ko nalang magpategi,” she explained, citing her commitment to her live comedy career.
She assured fans that Coco Martin promised to include her in future projects, while she also looks forward to joining him in a special show in Sydney, Australia, this November.
Expressing her gratitude for her time on FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, Ate Gay wrote, “Lubos po akong nagpapasalamat sa isang taon kong pamamalagi sa BQ… dala ko ang mga mabubuting pinadama nila sa akin.”
