GMA Network’s primetime mystery thriller drama series “Widow’s War” has reached a new milestone, recording its highest ratings to date.

According to the latest Nielsen NUTAM People survey, “Widow’s War” achieved its new all-time high ratings just a day after setting its previous record.

On Friday, July 19, the series starring Bea Alonzo and Carla Abellana attained a rating of 12.3 percent, surpassing its previous high of 11.1 percent recorded on July 18.

“Widow’s War” may have benefited from the strong performance of its lead-in program, “Black Rider,” which also recorded its highest rating of 15.2 percent on the same day.

The record-setting episode featured Basil (Benjamin Alves) blackmailing Sam (Bea Alonzo). Basil knew about Sam’s involvement in her husband Paco’s death and used this knowledge to coerce Sam into killing his wife George (Carla Abellana). The episode also included an emotional conversation between Aurora (Jean Garcia), Paco’s mother, and Sam as she tried to comfort Aurora over her son’s passing.

Before this latest achievement, “Widow’s War” continued to dominate its timeslot.

On Monday, July 15, the series registered a rating of 10.8 percent, beating rival “Pamilya Sagrado,” which scored 6.7 percent. On Tuesday, July 16, “Widow’s War” slightly declined to 10.2 percent but still led “Pamilya Sagrado” by 3.3 percent at 6.9 percent. On Wednesday, July 17, “Widow’s War” again ruled the timeslot with a rating of 11.0 percent, 3.9 percent higher than “Pamilya Sagrado’s” 7.1 percent.
