Kapuso action star Ruru Madrid is gearing up for an exciting return to the screen, as he intensifies his training in Filipino martial arts for a much-anticipated project.
Known for his dynamic roles in primetime television, Ruru recently shared a video of his martial arts training, fueling speculation about his upcoming endeavors.
In a video posted on social media, Ruru is seen training under Filipino martial arts expert Ronnie Royce Base. The actor showcased his skills with arnis sticks and a wooden bolo, indicating his preparation for a physically demanding role.
“Pagsasanay at paghahanda para sa mas matinding pagbabalik,” Ruru captioned the post, hinting at a major comeback.
One of the projects expected to feature Ruru is the second season of ‘Lolong,’ the top-rated 2022 series where he portrayed a young man who communicates with a giant crocodile named Dakila. While no official announcement has been made regarding the show’s return, key figures from the production team have hinted at its comeback. GMA Public Affairs program manager Mark Norella has shared updates on social media, highlighting meetings, casting calls, promotional plans, and martial arts training for the series.
Ruru has been actively involved in these preparations, sitting in on several creative meetings with ‘Lolong’s’ team, further fueling excitement among fans eager for the show’s return.
Apart from his work on ‘Lolong,’ Ruru is also preparing for ‘Green Bones,’ a film set to be an entry in the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival this December. In the movie, he will star alongside Kapuso Drama King Dennis Trillo. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Zig Dulay and written by National Artist for Film Ricky Lee, ‘Green Bones’ is set to be one of the festival’s highlights.
