Copa America Bracket 2024: Updated Title Odds and Predictions Before Semifinal Games

The Copa América semifinal is set after an exciting night of soccer.

Argentina beat Ecuador in penalties on Thursday before Canada handled Venezuela, also in penalties on Friday. Saturday produced the first lopsided result of the knockout round as Colombia handled Panama 5-0, and Uruguay punched the final ticket to the semis after a 0-0 game against Brazil ended in penalties.

Ahead of the Copa América semifinal, which begins Tuesday, here’s a look at the updated bracket and schedule, title odds and some predictions.

Argentina has been one of the most dominant teams throughout the tournament. It kept its opponents scoreless through the group stages and didn’t allow a goal until late in its matchup with Ecuador.

Then in penalties, Argentina proved that no moment is too big for its roster.

Canada’s tremendous run to the semifinal is extremely impressive, especially considering it’s the country’s first Copa América appearance. But Canada is going up against a soccer powerhouse, and it likely won’t have enough to get past the Lionel Messi-led Argentinian squad.

Soccer fans around the world should tip their hats to Canada and its Cinderalla run, but a Copa América title doesn’t seem within reach just yet.

Both Uruguay and Colombia have looked strong throughout the group stages and the quarterfinal. Colombia looks especially intimidating after a convincing win against Panama.

Colombia’s James Rodríguez has been the spark for the team’s offense during the tournament, and it will look to him to continue delivering in the semifinal.

But Uruguay got through the group stages unscathed before handling Brazil in penalty kicks on Saturday. One of the most telling stats for Uruguay is that it leads the field in goal differential, which is a good indicator of its dominant performance thus far.

Uruguay will face a strong offense against Colombia, but if its defense can perform the way it has for most of the tournament it should lead to a trip to the title game.
