EURO 2024: INVESTIGATION OPENED AFTER IMAGES OF THE ULTRA-VIOLENT ATTACK ON A PORTUGUESE SUPPORTER BY STEWARDS

A Portugal fan was assaulted by security personnel at the Frankfurt stadium, where the Seleçao faced Slovenia in the round of 16 of Euro 2024, on Monday (0-0, 3 pens to 0). According to the Portuguese press, an investigation has been opened.

In these images, a Portuguese fan is violently attacked by several security employees at the Frankfurt stadium. Held by two stewards, the supporter receives several blows to the face. Knocked to the ground, he is then kicked. At the same time, a second fan is on the ground, face down. In the images, he is not hit. But he was also allegedly attacked, according to the Portuguese press.

An investigation opened

According to Record , one of the two supporters wanted to invade the pitch and the other tried to stop him. According to the Portuguese daily, this aggression is the subject of an investigation. As of Wednesday noon, the tournament organization had not communicated.
