Vice Ganda recently received a special gift from actress Angel Locsin and her husband, Neil Arce—a giant poodle—following the passing of his beloved pet dog, Chip In.
The ‘It’s Showtime’ host shared the news in his latest vlog, where he introduced his new furry companion to his followers.
During the vlog, Vice Ganda mentioned the poodle after showcasing his Labubu collection, including a large Zimomo toy.
He then opened up about the significance of the gift from Locsin and Arce, stating, “Mayroon akong bagong dog, giant poodle siya. Regalo siya sa akin ni Neil at Angel Locsin. Kasi when Chip In passed on sobra akong lungkot. Si Chip In ay regalo sa akin ng mga kaibigan ko noong birthday ko, isa na roon si Angel Locsin.”
Vice explained that Locsin, knowing how devastated he was after losing Chip In, decided to give him one of her own dog’s puppies to help him cope with the loss. “Kapapanganak lang ng aso niya, yung isa ibinigay niya sa akin,” Vice shared.
In a playful moment, Vice considered naming the new dog “Zimomo” after his toy collection, asking the poodle, “Wala pa siyang name. Papangalanan na lang kitang Zimomo, gusto mo na ba yon? Ikaw na lang si Zimomo.”
The gift comes after Vice Ganda publicly mourned the loss of his “first fur baby,” Chip In, last August. On social media, the comedian expressed how Chip In had been a constant companion through the highs and lows of his life. During a previous episode of It’s Showtime, Vice reflected on the special bond he had with his dog, making the loss particularly painful.
