Actress and social media sensation Ivana Alawi has addressed growing calls from fans urging her to enter politics in the upcoming 2025 elections.

In a candid TikTok video, Alawi made it clear that she has no plans to run for office, citing her lack of knowledge about governance and legislation.

“Bakit naman ako tatakbo sa ngayon? Wala akong alam sa politics. Wala akong alam sa paggawa ng batas,” Alawi said, firmly shutting down the idea of a political career at this time.

The actress explained that if she ever considered entering the political arena, she would want to undergo three to four years of education to ensure she is fully prepared and capable of serving her constituents properly.

Alawi also stressed that one does not need a government position to contribute to society, saying, “A lot of people would say, ‘Eh kasi gusto ko makatulong sa Pilipinas, gusto ko makatulong sa kababayan natin.’ Kayang-kaya natin gawin ‘yun even without being into politics. Kahit wala kang position, wala kang upuan, kaya mo makatulong.”

Amid her remarks, Alawi took the opportunity to remind voters to exercise caution and wisdom in the upcoming elections: “Kapag boboto kayo, please vote wisely kasi mahal natin ang Pilipinas. I believe aasenso ang Pilipinas as long as we pick the right leaders and the right people to lead the country.”

In addition to addressing political aspirations, Alawi shared advice for those who wish to make a difference, even outside of politics. “Sana man lang ibibigay mo talaga ‘yung all-in mo. Hindi pwedeng racket mo ‘to. Dapat dedicated ka at give your all. Dapat alam mo ‘yung ginagawa mo at mahal mo ang ating mga kababayan,” she added.

Despite numerous requests and offers from fans, Ivana Alawi remains steadfast in her belief that true service comes from the heart and that Filipinos can help their fellow citizens in many ways without holding public office.

As of this writing, Alawi’s TikTok video has garnered over 2 million views. She is best known for her role in ABS-CBN’s hit series ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.’
