Carlos Yulo, the two-time Olympic gold medalist who captivated audiences with his historic wins at the Paris 2024 Olympics, has addressed speculation about a potential career in showbiz.
Known for his impressive gymnastics skills and striking appearance, Yulo has become a source of inspiration, but he remains steadfast in his commitment to his sport.
In a recent interview with Luis Manzano, Yulo addressed rumors suggesting he might transition into acting or sports hosting. “Hindi po. Hindi po talaga. Hindi po ako marunong umarte po, e,” Yulo stated, firmly rejecting the idea of pursuing a career in the entertainment industry.
Yulo clarified that his primary interest lies in advancing the field of gymnastics rather than exploring showbiz opportunities. “Gusto ko related talaga sa sports po. Makatulong po talaga sa community ng gymnastics po talaga. Iyon ‘yung gusto ko. Hindi ko nakikita ang sarili ko na sa showbiz po ako, eh,” he explained.
The gymnast expressed his dedication to sharing his knowledge and experiences with young athletes, aiming to foster growth in the sport within the Philippines. “Ma-share ko ‘yung knowledge ko po and naging experience ko po sa high level po and sa ganitong elite level po. Ma-share ko siya sa mga kabataan. Hopefully na makarating sila sa ganitong level po,” he said.
Looking ahead, Yulo is gearing up for the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) in 2025, focusing on his training and contributions to gymnastics. Despite the buzz around his personal life, Yulo’s dedication to his sport and community remains his top priority.
