Actor-director Coco Martin has made drug testing mandatory for the entire cast, crew, and staff of his hit primetime Kapamilya series, ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,’ under his production company, CCM Film Productions.
In a letter issued on Wednesday, October 2, Martin reminded his team that they must submit their drug test results by October 7, 2024. He had already informed them about the requirement last month.
“Kung maari lamang na ipasa ang inyong resulta bago mag-Okubre 7, 2024. Kung hindi po makakapagpasa bago ang nasabing araw, hindi po muna mapapayagan pumasok,” Martin wrote in his letter.
He further explained that this measure was implemented for the well-being of everyone involved and to ensure the smooth operation of the production.
The initiative aims to ensure a drug-free environment for the widely followed series, setting an example for responsible practices in the entertainment industry. It also serves as a deterrent for those considering the use of illegal substances.
Martin’s move has been praised by many, with hopes that other production companies might adopt similar measures to maintain the professionalism and safety of their teams.
