David Licauco recently confessed to being starstruck by Japanese actress Maria Ozawa during the taping of their show ‘Pulang Araw.‘
In an interview on ’24 Oras Weekend’ with Nelson Canlas, Licauco shared his initial reaction to meeting Ozawa.
“Actually paakyat dito nakita ko si Maria Ozawa,” Licauco said. “Nagulat ako na andyan siya saka ang ganda niya.”
In ‘Pulang Araw,’ Licauco plays Hiroshi Tanaka, a character whose Japanese immigrant mother is portrayed by Ozawa.
Licauco first caught public attention in January when he humorously mentioned Maria Ozawa in a viral ‘Family Feud’ episode, associating her name with “Maria.” Ozawa responded positively to the mention, calling Licauco “cute.”
The series, which also stars Barbie Forteza, Sanya Lopez, Alden Richards, and Dennis Trillo, airs weeknights on GMA Prime at 8 p.m., following ’24 Oras.’ It is also available for streaming on Netflix, where it is currently ranked among the Top 10 TV Shows in the Philippines Today.
