GMA Network’s newest afternoon drama, ‘Forever Young,’ made a strong debut, captivating viewers with its first episode on October 21.
Starring award-winning Kapuso child actor Euwenn Mikaell, the show recorded impressive ratings, reaching 7.1 percent according to preliminary/overnight data from Nationwide Urban TV Audience Measurement (NUTAM) People Ratings by Nielsen Philippines.
The pilot episode not only garnered high ratings but also received overwhelming praise from netizens. Viewers expressed their admiration for the storyline and the performances of the cast. The emotional depth of the episode, which featured intense scenes like the shooting of Mayor Rambo Agapito and the villainous actions of Esmeralda against the family of Mayor Eduardo Malaque, left a significant impact on the audience.
Netizens took to social media to share their reactions, with many applauding Euwenn Mikaell for his portrayal of Rambo in his first lead TV role.
The performances of veteran actors Michael De Mesa and Eula Valdes also received widespread acclaim for their powerful delivery, along with the rest of the cast, who helped bring the emotional and dramatic scenes to life.
Forever Young follows the story of Rambo (played by Mikaell), a 25-year-old man with a rare condition known as panhypopituitarism, which stunted his physical growth. Despite his condition, Rambo fights to become the mayor of Corazon, facing fierce political rivalry between the families of Eduardo Malaque and Esmeralda Vergara.
With its compelling storyline and strong start, ‘Forever Young’ continues to air weekdays at 4:00 p.m. on GMA Afternoon Prime.
