Award-winning actor John Arcilla has taken a stance on the network rivalry that often stirs Filipino fans.
While preparing for his role as an antagonist in GMA Network’s ‘Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan,’ the award-winning actor turned to Instagram to address and mitigate the fierce competition among fans of the country’s top networks.
In a recent post, Arcilla shared his admiration for ABS-CBN, GMA Network, and TV5, highlighting the warm interactions he witnesses between the executives of these media giants.
“Sana maramdaman ninyo ang nararamdaman ko tuwing nakikita ko ang mga BIG BOSS ng tatlong TV Network na magkakaharap sa isang lamesa, nagkukwentuhan na masaya, magkakasundo at magkakaibigan,” Arcilla wrote, expressing his wish for fans to see the camaraderie and friendship between network leaders.
Arcilla emphasized that competition between these networks is healthy and exists solely to provide entertainment and information to the Filipino public. He encouraged fans to respect and support each network without hostility, noting, “Mas magaan ho ang buhay na walang samaan ng loob.”
Arcilla also thanked GMA Network Senior Vice President Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes and his ABS-CBN manager Lauren Dyogi for their support, underscoring his loyalty to Star Magic, ABS-CBN’s talent management arm.
John Arcilla is still being seen in the ABS-CBN series ‘Pamilya Sagrado’ on Primetime Bida.
The actor’s call for unity comes as he joins the cast of ‘Lolong’ in its second season, playing the character Julio Figueroa, a powerful businessman running an underground fighting arena.
