Kapuso actor Ken Chan is once again in legal trouble as a new arrest warrant has been issued against him in connection with a syndicated estafa case.
This time, the warrant reportedly does not allow bail, further complicating Chan’s situation. The case also involves Chan’s brother, Mark Clinton Angeles Chan, and unnamed business associates.
The news was shared by veteran showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin during her program ‘Showbiz Now Na.’ Fermin advised Chan to seek legal action, particularly a petition for bail, despite the “no bail” status of the case.
This is the second time an arrest warrant has been issued against the actor, following a previous report by Ogie Diaz on September 12, where it was revealed that the case also implicates one of Chan’s family members. Fermin noted that the new warrant is now widely circulated among police stations, with the Bureau of Immigration also having a copy.
“Kalat na kalat na ‘yung kanyang warrant of arrest sa lahat ng himpilan ng pulis at ang Immigration ay may kopya na rin at kung sakali na babalik dito (sa Pilipinas) si Ken Chan ay doon palang sa paliparan, o sa airport pa lang ay may huhuli na sa kanya, nakakalungkot,” Fermin said, expressing concern about the gravity of the situation.
Fermin’s co-host Romel Chika added that Chan has reportedly been losing weight due to the stress of the legal battle. Itong pinagdaraanan niya (Ken) nakaka-stress talaga,” Chika observed, linking it to the emotional and mental toll that Chan is likely experiencing.
Fermin pointed out the importance of facing legal issues head-on, advising Chan to return to the Philippines to resolve the case.
The syndicated estafa case, which involves financial disputes with investors, continues to weigh heavily on Chan, but Fermin encouraged him to take steps to find a solution.
Fermin concluded by emphasizing that no one is above the law and urged Chan to coordinate with his lawyers and the authorities to prevent further complications.
As of now, Chan’s camp has yet to release an official statement regarding the new developments. LionhearTV remains open to hearing his side of the story.
