Former Vice President Leni Robredo has been widely commended for her continued relief efforts despite no longer holding a government position.
Robredo has remained a trusted figure for many Filipinos, especially during natural disasters such as Typhoon Kristine, which recently devastated the Bicol region, particularly Camarines Sur.
Celebrities like Ogie Diaz, Jake Ejercito, Maxie Andreison, Karen Davila and Erik Santos have voiced their admiration for Robredo’s dedication to public service.
Influencers Arshie Larga and the FTTM group also showed their support by donating to Robredo’s Angat Buhay Foundation, while actor Donny Pangilinan personally visited the foundation’s headquarters to deliver goods. Drag Race PH winner Captivating Katkat was also seen at the Angat Buhay office, offering assistance.
Robredo and her foundation quickly became trending topics on X (formerly Twitter) as netizens praised her for leading relief efforts in the wake of Typhoon Kristine.
Robredo, who is running for mayor of Naga City, was spotted wading through floodwaters in her hometown, distributing clean water and relief goods to affected residents in Camarines Sur, one of the provinces hardest hit by the storm. Photos of Robredo’s efforts were shared by the Kaya Natin! Movement for Good Governance and Ethical Leadership on their Facebook page, featuring images taken by volunteer Egine Oquindo Baral.
“Sinuong ni former VP Leni Robredo ang mataas na baha para maghatid ng malinis na tubig at relief goods sa mga kababayan natin sa Naga City. ,” read the caption accompanying the photos.
The Angat Buhay Foundation, founded by Robredo, partnered with the Kaya Natin! movement to organize relief operations for those severely impacted by the typhoon. Robredo’s dedication to helping communities in need, even outside of her previous role in government, has continued to inspire many, reinforcing her reputation as a reliable source of support during times of crisis.
