After two decades of entertaining listeners on Love Radio, Nicole Hyala and Chris Tsuper are bidding farewell to their iconic radio tandem.

Chris Tsuper, whose real name is Adrian Policena, is leaving the station to pursue a new career in public service, a decision that has taken fans and even his co-host by surprise.

The duo made the announcement on their popular program ‘Tambalan’ on Friday, October 11. Nicole Hyala, visibly emotional, spoke about her partner’s sudden departure. Chris explained his decision, stating, “Sa ngayon, the path is unclear; bakit ako pupunta sa ganitong klase ng direksyon? And for those people who are asking, I’m pursuing a new passion which is public service.”

Chris emphasized that his resignation was not voluntary but required due to legal obligations tied to his candidacy. “There are legal requirements that we have to comply with,” he said, clarifying that he had no plans to leave radio but had to follow company policy.

Nicole explained that Chris had to resign after filing his certificate of candidacy (COC) for a councilor position in Lucban, Quezon. “Chris is leaving because he’s running for public office,” Nicole said. She also shared how unexpected the news was, revealing she learned of his candidacy only two weeks before his announcement. “I even thought we would celebrate our 30th year together, but now it’s only 20.”

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Nicole described the end of their tandem as the “most painful challenge” she has ever faced. “It’s hard to find the words to say goodbye to something that has been a part of us for so long,” she wrote. “This may be the end, but the memories will live on.”

While Chris is moving on to pursue his political aspirations, Nicole reassured fans that she will continue her work at Love Radio. “Radio is my life and I cannot imagine a day without it,” she said. “I just don’t know what radio will be like without Chris Tsuper. But like all the other challenges I’ve faced, I know I will get through this.”

Chris Tsuper has officially filed his candidacy for the 2025 elections, marking the beginning of his new journey in public service, leaving behind a legacy of two decades of laughter, camaraderie, and unforgettable moments with Nicole Hyala.
