Diaz’s remarks come as a call to action for politicians to prioritize relief efforts and show genuine care for the public in times of crisis.
TV host and showbiz insider Ogie Diaz has publicly called on politicians, particularly those running for senator and party-list positions, to step up and provide aid to the victims of Typhoon Kristine in the Bicol region, especially in Camarines Sur.
In a post on his Facebook page, Diaz challenged candidates to take this opportunity to prove their commitment to public service by assisting those affected by the disaster.
Diaz went on to praise former Vice President Leni Robredo and her Angat Buhay Foundation for their continued efforts in providing aid, despite Robredo no longer holding a government position.
The TV host, a well-known supporter of Robredo during the 2022 elections, criticized politicians who only become active during campaign season, stating, “Kilos na dahil nakakahiya naman kung during campaign period lang kayo makikita. Nakakahiya naman sa inyo.”
Meanwhile, Robredo’s Angat Buhay Foundation recently announced that they have raised ₱4 million through a donation drive aimed at helping those affected by Typhoon Kristine.
