Rumor has it ABS-CBN Studios will collaborate with GMA Network, to air the next season of the hit reality series.
Perhaps, the best indication Pinoy Big Brother remains the most loved reality series by Filipinos, is its latest phenomenal big night which broke all online records in the Philippines. 2.26 million concurrent viewers on YouTube and Facebook! That’s nearly thrice the highest live concurrent viewership attained by FPJ’s Batang Quiapo!
The series has proven itself as a premier star discoverer, with many of today’s biggest stars, including Kim Chiu, Maymay Entrata, Sam Milby, James Reid, and more, trace their roots to Pinoy Big Brother. This Gen 11 season proved once more the reality series remains a leading star maker, with all it’s Big Four and other evicted housemates, expected to join showbiz and soar with projects, soon.
On the heels of this success, of course, is another season of PBB, which Bianca Gonzales confirmed during her closing spiel at the Big Night.
“…magkikita pa tayong muli!“ said Gonzales, which means, another season is indeed happening.
Some reports suggest, however, that the next edition will instead be aired on GMA Network. If it is true, then this will be the first time the successful Kapamilya series will be shown on ABS-CBN’s former rival, GMA Network. A new house with activity area will also be built in another location, reports claim. No official statement from ABS-CBN, however, has verified such reports.
That said, it seems enough to know the reality series will be seen again on TV with one more season. Let’s hope it will match the magic and intensity of Gen 11. After all, it marks the series’ 20th anniversary.
