Actress-singer Rita Daniela has formally filed an act of lasciviousness complaint against fellow entertainer Archie Alemania, detailing alleged inappropriate actions that took place after a recent event.
The complaint was submitted to the Office of the City Prosecutor in Bacoor City, with Daniela recounting her experience of unwanted advances and offensive comments.
According to her affidavit, Daniela alleges that Alemania kissed and touched her without consent and made multiple inappropriate remarks. “That being a public figure, a contractual artist with reputation to protect, it is very difficult for me to file the instant case but the trauma I was and am experiencing brought about by the incident gave me courage to face the consequences and file the instant case against the respondent,” Daniela stated.
The incident reportedly occurred following a Thanksgiving party in September, during which Alemania allegedly directed lewd remarks toward Daniela. Feeling uncomfortable, Daniela initially brushed off his comments, assuming they were fueled by intoxication. However, the situation escalated when Alemania, in his van, offered her a ride home. Though she was hesitant, she ultimately accepted.
While en route, Alemania allegedly placed his hand on Daniela’s shoulder and neck, which she pushed away, telling him to stop. Upon arriving at her residence, he allegedly held her hand, insisted on a kiss, and forcibly kissed her, continuing his advances despite her resistance. Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque, Daniela’s lawyer, detailed how the actress was able to escape only after several attempts to break free.
The complaint includes a message Daniela sent to Alemania after the incident, expressing how disrespected she felt. Alemania reportedly apologized, attributing his actions to alcohol.
Sparkle GMA Artist Center, both Alemania and Daniela’s talent agency, addressed the issue in a statement: “We are committed to ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all. We encourage both parties to seek a fair resolution and trust that the process will yield constructive outcomes.”
Alemania has yet to issue a statement regarding the complaint as of this posting.
