Primetime action hero Ruru Madrid is hinting at exciting new developments in his career.
The actor recently shared a black-and-white portrait on Instagram, captioned “Welcome to my new era,” followed by another post that simply read “new chapter” against a greenish-gray background.
Ruru has just completed his role in the action-packed series ‘Black Rider,’ which ended on a high note, achieving record-breaking ratings. The finale episode garnered a 15.6 combined rating from GMA Network, GTV, and Pinoy Hits, according to Nielsen Philippines.
This surpasses the program’s previous high of 14.7 in the same timeslot.

Fans are buzzing with speculation about Ruru’s cryptic posts, with many guessing what his next project could be. Based on the heart emoji color and text background he used, guesses range from a second season of the 2022 hit show ‘Lolong’ to the recently announced film ‘Green Bones,’ which is set to compete in the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival.

‘Green Bones’ will see Ruru starring alongside Kapuso Drama King Dennis Trillo and young actress Sofia Pablo. The film, directed by award-winning filmmaker Zig Dulay, boasts a script written by National Artist for Films and Broadcast Arts Ricky Lee, along with 2023 MMFF Best Screenplay winner Anj Atienza.
Meanwhile, details about a potential second season of ‘Lolong’ remain scarce, though a casting call by GMA Public Affairs for child actors last September hints at ongoing developments.
