TV host and senatorial candidate Willie Revillame recently shared heartfelt praises for former Vice President Leni Robredo after personally meeting her in Naga City, where he delivered aid to residents affected by Typhoon Kristine.

Revillame, who hosts ‘Wil To Win’ on TV5, traveled to Naga to hand over a ₱3 million check to Robredo’s Angat Buhay Foundation. The donation will help fund relief efforts for communities in Camarines Sur, which were severely impacted by flooding.

Camarines Sur 3rd District Representative Gabriel Bordado, Jr. joined the meeting and expressed gratitude, referring to Revillame as “Senator Willie” for his support.

In recounting the visit to his studio audience, Revillame praised Robredo for her simplicity and dedication to service. “Alam n’yo si Vice President Leni, parang napakasarap yakapin na isang ina,” Revillame shared, describing her as a “simple and genuine” public servant. “Napakasimple, sayang ngayon ko lang siya nakilala. Napakasimpleng tao. Katulad n’yo rin, at ako, simple, simple lang ang gusto.”

Revillame’s mother is from Naga, which he said inspired his trip to the typhoon-stricken area. Seeing Robredo’s commitment firsthand, he observed that she even headed straight to visit 12 barangays after their meeting, personally overseeing food distribution to affected families.

“After ng meeting namin pumunta pa siya sa baha, ‘Magpapalit lang ako ng damit.’ Labindalawang barangay ang pupuntahan niya para bigyan ng mga pagkain. Maraming mga volunteers doon, mga kababayan natin sa Naga, kung makikita n’yo talaga namang malulungkot kayo dahil konti na lang ‘yong kalsadang nadadaanan,” Revillame noted.

Robredo has yet to publicly respond to Revillame’s praises.
