Bea Alonzo recently addressed the confusion surrounding her breakup with ex-fiancé Dominic Roque during an interview on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’ aired on Thursday, July 11.

The actress explained the context behind her seemingly conflicting statements from previous interviews.

“Tito Boy, not that I owe anyone an explanation, I really don’t want to talk about this anymore. But to answer your question, baka nga may mga nalilito, during that time that I did Tatler, that was like a month ago. Kasi po bago po sila makapag-release ng July issue, medyo matagal na. That was the only time I kind of talked about it because I was asked,” Bea clarified.

Alonzo further elaborated that during her ’24 Oras’ interview, she had no intention of discussing the breakup.

“Then, during ’24 Oras,’ I didn’t have the intention to talk about it because nga I really wanted to give respect to the relationship that was,” she said.

The actress recounted feeling comfortable during her conversation with Nelson Canlas, which led to her instinctively correcting his assumption that she had initiated the breakup.

“And then I was so comfortable talking to him [Nelson Canlas] as if walang camera sa harapan, and then he went like, sabi niya, ‘Siyempre ikaw ‘yung nakipag-break. Hindi nila alam mahirap din sa ‘yo.’ And parang it was like an instinct na I had to correct him. But I didn’t have any intention to really talk about it.”

Despite stating that Dominic Roque initiated the breakup, Bea emphasized that it was ultimately a mutual decision.

In a separate interview, Dominic Roque neither confirmed nor denied Bea’s account of the breakup.

The former couple broke their silence about their split in February through a social media post, ending months of speculation.
