Maris Racal found herself at the center of attention during the recent PridePH Festival when she was mistaken for BINI member Gwen, sparking a viral moment on social media.

In a video shared on her X account, Maris was captured walking towards Quezon Memorial Circle during the event, where festivities were underway despite the rainy weather. Her new hairstyle bore a resemblance to Gwen’s, prompting fans to confuse her with the popular member of the Filipino girl group BINI.

Responding with humor and grace, Maris addressed the mix-up in her post: “Eto yung naglalakad ako sa east ave Happy Pride talagaaa! #LoveLaban2Everyone.”

 

Although BINI was scheduled to perform at the PridePH Festival, technical issues prevented them from taking the stage, disappointing their fans who had gathered in support.

Despite the setback, Maris took the opportunity to participate in her first Pride March enthusiastically, expressing her support for the LGBTQ+ community: “MY FIRST PRIDE MARCH! Mahal ko kayo! Happy Pride! #LoveLaban2Everyone. Mahal ko ang mga bading!”

 

During the event, Maris also promoted her upcoming film ‘Marupok AF (Where is the Lie),’ where she plays a director alongside Royce Cabrera, EJ Jallorina, and others.
