Three Kapamilya primetime programs has been ruling their respective time slots, since a major programming shake-up, last week.
Let’s not even make mention of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo remaining the overall number one TV show in the country, for 17 months now, ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida block is definitely inching closer to overtaking leadership from GMA Network’s GMA Prime. With all Kapamilya dramas, defeating their respective timeslot rivals, on primetime, it seems gloomy days has come to GMA Network’s primetime line-up.
Aside from the Coco Martin-topbilled, FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, new Kapamilya series, Lavender Fields, has consistently won the ratings battle, versus rival show, Widows’ War. It’s worth noting that the Bea Alonzo and Carla Abellana-starree, had already log a number of defeats, in the hands of its previous rival, Pamilya Sagrado, but Lavender Fields, proved to be more menacing for a rival show. For its pilot week alone, the Jodi Sta. Maria title-starrer, pulled off an average of 9.6 people rating (2-6 September), beating Widows’ War’s average of 8.1.
Lavender Fields is notably, simultaneously winning the Netflix war, as it remains the most streamed TV show in the country, beating Pulang Araw.
Pamilya Sagrado, which moved to the third primetime slot from the second slot, has been, likewise, showing suprising strength in the ratings game. The series has so far logged two convincing victories, one against Kapuso environmental docuseries, Amazing Earth, 6.8 vs 5.6 (6 September); and one against Asawa Ng Asawa Ko, 6.7 vs 6.3 (9 September). This is particularly alarming for Asawa ng Asawa Ko, as it consistently held timeslot leadership, since the finale of Can’t Buy Me Love in May.
This surprising streak of victory by ABS-CBN’s primetime programming, seems to be a repeat of its last major shakeup this year, when Can’t Buy Me Love moved to the third slot, to give way for the premiere of Linlang: The Teleserye version.
