Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera is thrilled by the overwhelmingly positive feedback for her latest film, ‘Balota.’
During a recent block screening, Rivera shared her excitement, describing the film as a “wake-up call” for Filipinos, particularly the younger generation, as the country gears up for elections.
In an interview on ’24 Oras,’ Rivera expressed how heartwarming it is to see the good reviews the film has been receiving. “Nakakataba ng puso, lalo na kapag nakikita mo ‘yung good reviews na sinasabi nila tungkol sa Balota. Ito talagang Balota, isang adbokasiya talaga siya kaya pinu-push talaga namin na mas maraming makapanood kasi wake up call ito sa mga tao, higit lalo sa mga kabataan na tamang-tama mag-eeleksyon na, malapit na,” Rivera said.
Rivera, who portrays Teacher Emmy in the film, emphasized that ‘Balota’ addresses important social and political issues. She also mentioned that the film offers special discounted rates for teachers and students, hoping to make it more accessible to a wider audience.
‘Balota’ has been performing well at the box office, even surpassing international blockbusters such as ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ and ‘Transformers One,’ as well as local competitors like ‘Guilty Pleasure.’
With her role in ‘Balota,’ Rivera continues to expand her portfolio, and the film’s success further solidifies her position as one of the country’s most beloved actresses.
